Use the vehicle placard
The recommended cold inflation pressure is normally listed on the vehicle tire-information placard and in owner documentation. The maximum pressure moulded into a tire sidewall is not a substitute for the vehicle recommendation.
Check when tires are cold
Use a suitable gauge before significant driving and adjust to the vehicle specification. Front and rear recommendations may differ. Recheck after large seasonal temperature changes.
A recurring warning needs inspection
Repeated pressure loss can indicate a puncture, valve, bead, wheel or tire issue. A monitoring-system warning should not simply be reset until pressure and possible causes are checked.
